Resurrection and the demise of death

All of life loves life. Everything leans toward the light, feeds and extends itself. Think of all the plants, flowers and trees that bloom and grow, or all the work that animals do in order to stay alive. Indeed, we humans do all this and more. We dream of living forever through tradition, progeny, projects and through belief in an afterlife. To tell someone that he or she will be dead forever is ultimately to rob that person of hope.

Not surprisingly, then, for ages we've been thinking about life after death. From building pyramids loaded with supplies for the journey of death, to honoring reincarnated beings, to visiting cemeteries, we do many surprising things in the hope that there may be some living to do after we die.
